Form Explorations
These studies are the culmination of a semester's work of process-oriented form exploration in Martin Venezky's Form Studio. Initially prompted to investigate two randomly selected dollar store items through drawing and photography, over the course of ten weeks I shifted away from studying the physical objects, and began studying shadow and line in abstract yet intentional ways. An interest in the ideas of "impossible spaces" and the perceptual relationships between 2D and 3D forms, I arrived at a final series of work that combines sculpture, photography, and drawing.
